Detrick Favors arrested in plot to kidnap himself
Sheriff
Scott Berry announces the arrest of Detrick Fernandez Favors (41) of
Brown Road on one count of Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Extortion;
Making a False Statement. A bench warrant was issued after evidence was
presented to a grand jury and an indictment was returned.
The charge stems from Favors being complicit in his own "kidnapping" on November 18, 2013. The kidnapping was an attempt to get ransom money from the victim with Favors and the "kidnappers" intending to split the ransom money.
